Worsley Hall Community Church meets at Bramble House, Worsley Hall at 10am each Tuesday for mutual encouragement, to share food, discussion, Bible reading and prayer. The is a renewed focus of these gatherings of declaring God’s ‘blessing’ over the community of Worsley Hall.
WHCC is a lively, warm and friendly Worshipping Community, connected to the Newtown Hub and in alignment with the Transforming Wigan movement.
There are many opportunities to join in with other activities in the community, St Mark’s Church and the wider Hub.
Worsley Hall Community Church began as a church plant from St. Mark’s and still comes under the authority of the PCC. There is an established leadership team. Since January 2015 Joe Edgar (pictured below) has served as Team Leader. Joe was commissioned as a Local Missional Leader, a new approach to ministry. You can read more about Joe’s commissioning here.
Since August 2017 WHCC has made the transition from a Sunday centric service to a community of Jesus’ disciples on mission together exploring how to better serve the wider community of Worsley Hall. At the heart of this new approach to ministry is the desire to bless people seeking asylum and refugees arriving in Wigan.
