We are excited to be joining in with a festival day in Alexandra Park on Pentecost Sunday, 15th May, from 12 pm to 4pm.  This is to be called ‘Soul in the Park’ and is a part of our strategy to revive the spiritual heart of our community through the Transforming Wigan movement.

The aim is to have a big celebration of God’s goodness and the presence of His Spirit among His people.  There will be activities including worship, prayer, word and story… all of which will be different from some of the usual ways we often do things in our church buildings.  There will be activities and events for children throughout the afternoon and at some point there will be a big ‘Breakout Communion’ as well as a ‘Spirit Special’.  We are pleased that the Bishop of Liverpool will be joining us for this event.

Building on the success of ‘Party in the Park’ we are helping co-ordinate many of the events with one of our church warden’s, David Ashcroft, acting as Events Manager for the day.

Please note there will be no services in our church building on this day as we ‘move out’ on mission together!
